Wargin, Kathy-Jo
When Kathy-jo Wargin was a young girl, each night after dinner, her mother let her choose between washing the dishes or writing a poem. Before long, she decided that if she grew up to be a writer, she wouldn't have to do any dishes. She has since learned that even though she has published more than twenty award-winning books for children, she still has to wash the dishes. Kathy-jo lives in Minnesota with her husband and her son. Geister, David
Museums, book sellers and art supply stores in the Twin Cities were like a magnet to illustrator David Geister, who left his cherished hometown of Prescott, Wisconsin more than 20 years ago and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Since 2000 he has lived in south Minneapolis, and every one of his Sleeping Bear Press titles has been painted upstairs in the home he shares with his wife, teacher and author Patricia Bauer.
